Developing Academic Excellence
The biggest strength of any educational setup is its Academic strength. Academic excellence is the demonstrated ability to perform, achieve, and excel in scholastic activities. Academic excellence has been identified with achieving high grades and superior performance. Academic Excellence at SIBM would be achieved through the following steps:
Formulation of a Continuous Review Committee for Curriculum development, looking to the current industry needs.
Course allocation to faculty as per the expertise in relevant domain. No faculty may be allowed to teach the same course for a span of more than three years without a gap of one year.
Adaptation of alternate pedagogies such as international immersion, rural immersion, Strategic Projects, Collaborative Projects and research between students and faculty members may be institutionalized.
A progressive and constructive faculty feedback system may be institutionalized to take corrective actions against the week areas of certain faculty members.
Finally a well though-off scheduling system to ensure low fatigue, high comprehension of academic work may be introduced.
Developing Institutional Research Capabilities
A strong management institute is ideally characterized by a continuous creation and dissemination of contemporary insights generated from research capabilities. SIBM would create an environment and infrastructure conducive towards research.
Research Capabilities at SIBM would be achieved through the following steps:
Instituting a Research Monitor (New Journal): This becomes a novel exercise wherein the faculty members of the institute experience complete cycle of activities pertaining to publication of authentic research works. One of the faculty members may be entrusted the responsibility of being the Chief Editor and rest may be involved within the editorial team. Similarly to experience production related aspects, certain faculty members may be assigned such responsibilities. The capabilities of expert reviewing and editing may be outsourced.
Guidelines for instituting an Accrediting Mechanism: The institute may define guidelines of categorizing research as well as crediting the research on the basis of its publication. For example a publication in a reputed international journal may be credited twice than a publication in national journal. Unpublished but valuable research may also be given some credit on the Accreditation mechanism.
The Institute will be known for its contribution to the development of business leadership and corporate excellence through research, consultancy and training in selected strategic areas.
